Viral Tweet Builder On Hold Until Further Notice

If you, my readers, tried to access Viral Tweet Builder through my links in a previous post and were unable to access the program, here’s why.  I received an e-mail from Shannon Murphy, a member of the Viral Tweet Builder team.  I have posted here response here:

Steve,

Some of you may or may not know, this past Friday Twitter deactivated our API key. In layman’s terms, our application can no longer send or receive data from Twitter.

This is a total surprise to us, seeing that we under went a complete program make-over in September of 2010 to comply with Twitter’s requests. A member of their API team looked over our application and activated our API key. Thus, we vigorously moved forward with the growth and development of Viral Tweet Builder under the impression we were in great standing with Twitter.

We are currently awaiting reply from Twitter as to if there is anything we can do to solve this problem. We are urging a solution that is fair to Viral Tweet Builder and it’s members (abrupt and complete termination would not be fair).

In light of the recent developments, we have no choice but place a hold on Viral Tweet Builder’s affiliate program until we hear from Twitter.  All affiliate links will be redirected to http://vtbfree.com/notice.html

My Personal Experience With “Mentoring For Free”

About three months ago, I left my last internet network marketing opportunity disappointed and frustrated.  I had invested a lot of money and two and a half years of my time building a business that got me no where.  I bought into the promises which turned out to be lies.   I promoted the way my sponsor suggested with no results.  I tried some marketing on my own and got some results, but only earned just enough to break even every month.   I was not getting ahead and I was done.   It was time to move on and try something different.

As I began searching for a new way to build a network marketing company online, I stumbled across a website offering a free e-book entitled, “Success In 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy.  The book explained the process most people go through when they explore the network marketing industry, answering the question, “Why do most people fail in their chosen businesses?” Michael Dlouhy pulled back the curtain and exposed the lies and told the truth about succeeding in mlm.

After reading the e-book, I had hope that I really could build my business online.  I sent an e-mail to the person that was mentioned in the book as my personal mentor.   Honestly, I did not expect a repsonse, but within a few hours I had received a response and we had a good conversation over the phone.   I learned that “Success In 10 Steps” was introduction to a program called “Mentoring For Free“, which offered generic internet network marketing training that anyone could use to build any business for free.

I was invited by my mentor to listen to a couple of recorded training calls, and with a degree of skepticism, I agreed to listen to them.   I learned why my lack of success was not my fault; how to determine if I was in the right company and/or compensation plan; the “Colors To Success” and how to deal with different personality types; and much more.  Needless to say, I was impressed.

After listening to the recorded calls, my mentor informed me that “Mentoring For Free” offered 10 hours of live training conference calls each week where I could continue my education and personal development.   Topics included leadership, personal development, marketing and advertising, live prospecting calls and a weekly coaches corner call.   All calls were generic in nature, live and interactive; and no companies were mentioned and no products were sold.   Most of the calls were recorded and stored in an archive,  so if I couldn’t attend the live call, the calls were available to listen to later.

So for the past 90 days I have been using this amazing resource to grow my business and obtain the skills I need to be successful in the network marketing industry.  This has been the missing link I’ve needed to take my business to the next level.   It is nice to know that I have people that I can count on and who will hold me accountable to the plans I have developed for myself.

Anywhere else, this type of coaching and training would cost hundreds of dollars, but in “Mentoring For Free” you have a community of people who are interested in your success with no hidden agenda, except to help you become better in your business.

Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody

Here’s a great little story when people don’t want to accept responsibility or are too lazy to get things done.  Love it! Thought I would pass it along.

“Once upon a time, there were four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody.  When there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.  Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.  When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry because it was Somebody’s job.  Everybody thought somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.  So it ended up that Everybody blames Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done in the first place.”

So when there is a job that can be done and you can do it, DO IT!  Don’t wait for somebody else.  Don’t blame someone else for your own neglect.  The sooner you accept responsibility for your own life the better off you will be.  Remind yourself constantly,  “I am responsible!  I am responsible!  I am responsible!” By accepting personal responsibility, you take back your personal power by eliminating the negative habit of  blame.   Accepting responsibility is difficult because the only one you truly have to blame is yourself.  Blaming others always gives away your personal power to someone else.

So to feel free and in control of your life, simply start accepting personal responsibility.

Advertising With Traffic Exchanges

I debated writing a post about advertising with traffic exchanges.  It is a controversial subject in the internet marketing world.  You either like ‘em or you hate ‘em.  No gray area here.  Some internet marketers claim to get great results with traffic exchanges while others are convinced that they are just a waste of time.

If you are not familiar with the traffic exchange concept, basically you agree to view other people’s websites in exchange for the option to have others view yours.  If you have a very limited or no advertising budget at all, but have the time to invest in “traffic surfing” this is a great free option to start promoting your website or online business.   The downside is that it takes a lot of time to accumulate credits that will turn into views for your website.

However, the more you surf, the more traffic credits you earn for your own website.  You can also earn additional traffic credits by referring others to the exchanges.  Each traffic exchange has a different theme which keeps surfing fun and exciting.  If you do not have time to surf, you can also buy credits for traffic to your website.

You probably already have run into traffic exchanges already.  In fact, you may be already using them for promotional purposes. That’s Great! If not, that’s fine too, but how do you know which one(s) to surf?  There are a lot of them out there, and not all traffic exchanges are the same. The best results will come from those that have the most traffic are actively being surfed by other marketers.

Again, the question is, “How do you know if you are surfing the right traffic exchanges or just wasting your time?”  Let me give you two independent (and free) resources that can help you evaluate which traffic exchanges might be right for you.

Every week actual surfers cast their votes for their favorite traffic exchange and the results are compiled into the Affiliate Funnel Rank Report.  The traffic exchanges are ranked by popular vote by actual surfers and members of Affiliate Funnel.  You will also find additional stats for each exchange which many find helpful in choosing the right traffic exchange.  Also, the “Hit Exchange Report” provides a weekly ranking of the top performing traffic exchanges every Tuesday.  This source will provide you with additional recommendations for your traffic exchange surfing pleasure.

You can use traffic exchanges to promote any online business.   I suggest giving Traffic Exchanges  a try.  Most are free to join and you can upgrade later for additional benefits and credits.

One word of caution, though. By using traffic exchanges you are exposing yourself to multiple money-making offers which you may be tempted to join. You will see many. There are some other good opportunities out there, but most are not.  You can waste a lot of time and money jumping from one program to another and never get results.

My advice is to promote only one program at a time.  Find one you like and stick with it. When you are successful (meaning you have a steady income from your current program) you can take the skills you have learned and apply them to another program and create an additional income stream for yourself.  If you try to focus on too many opportunities at a time you will not be successful in any of them.  Trust me.  I’ve tried… and failed a lot. . . until I found….. (sorry for the shameless plug, but here it is anyway). . .

45 Lessons About Life and Living

The following was written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio. “To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.

Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch..

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
